Walking In A Winter Wonderland.

This is the view from my front door as of 10:30am today its blowing and snowing and freezing cold and yup thats Ashley out there in her shorts hehe she wears shorts no matter the time of year as you can see by looking we have quite a few inches of snow already and with this new storm we will probably get another 4 or 5 inches but we'll see. but i'm staying inside wrapped up in a blanket.. Hot chocolate anyone?

ASHLEY AND ESTHER

HAHAHAHAHAHA is all i have to say to this pic. I made the mistake of taking these two shopping together and this is what we came home with, each of them got a pair of super hero boxer shorts LOL on top of that they put them on with Fat Baby cowboy boots and long socks and decided to go for a ride uptown again HAHAHAHAHA i'm so glad i wasn't with them. I am so glad Ashley has soo many people around her that she can be totally random with (this girl happens to be one of my favs) ashley has soo much fun doing these kinds of things and doesnt even get ambarrassed about it LOL again i'm so glad she is taking her teen years to have so much fun because life shouldnt be taken so seriously all the time and someday she will look back at the pics and say "that was soo funnny). Anyway i hope you laugh as much as i did at these pics. one of them is pretty dark so just ignore it lol

Ok so Esther( my favorite neighbor and adopted daughter) and Ashley my beautiful daughter and Esthers adopted sister got bored yesterday and decided to go have a photo fun day so they went to the Hicken farm and took some pics these are just a few of them, Esther takes such good care of my girl and she might as well be a big sister for Ashley since Ashley doesnt have a big sis. they spend alot of time together and i know Ashley will miss her when she heads to Logan to pursue more schooling up there, shes gonna be an AG teacher woohoo she is gonna be the best teacher ever i just know it. so do you think they look like sisters? i do

AAAAAAAK my sons birthdays are today and tomorrow i cannot beleive its been 19 yrs since Justin arrived and 21 since Kevin arrived, if i had it all to do over i woldnt have changed a thing they both have their little isms that tick me off but for the most part they are great boys and i just pray they can be as happy one day as me and their dad is.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MEN!

She never ceases to amaze me..

I found out today that Ashley's Ag class had a contest to see who had memorized the FFA creed and the two who did the best get to go to the chapter contest, well Ashley wasn,t going to even do it but she had told Hadley Bingham that she would if Hadley got up there and did hers so Hadley got up and finished hers and the teacher (who is amazing by the way) asked if anyone else wanted to do theirs and Ashley just kinda sat back and didnt say anything, so Hadley having the great memory she does lol spoke up and said Ashley is going to do hers, to say the least Ashley wasn't too happy but she had memorized it so she got up and gave it right along with a few more girls too the boys were all chickens in her class i guess hehe but to make a long story short out of the few girls that spoke the creed Ashley was picked one of the two in the class to go to the chapter contest WOOOHOOOOOOO i am impressed, whoever does well at the chapter contest will go to the state one i beleive and i totally beleive in my daughter she can do whatever she puts her mind to do sooo good luck darling ashley and i hope you do well...

WOW! seems like its been a busy week for us i think i have posted 3 times this week... So here she is my new baby she is a 2008 Chrysler Sebring she has 16,000 miles on her and has all the bells and whistles i could ask for, like a sunroof, satelite radio, leather seats not heated though she has a hand free telephone thingy so we can call from the car once we get it programmed she has air bags all over the place her steering wheel telescopes out wich is nice and i love her. ohhh her name is Betsy... we must have test driven 10 cars but when Mark put us in this one we fell in love emmediately the only problem we had then was figuring out which kid i might have to sell to keep her but we worked it out, now i hope we get enough out of the car we totaled to help pay for her. this is the first time in my life i have had a car with that low of miles and newer than 3 yrs old all i can say is wooooohoooooooooo and thank you Brent Brown Chrysler Jeep Dodge ohhh and our buddy Mark Knickerbocker he's the best

the Turkey sale

Finally the night has come Ashley finally got to sell her turkeys after working to get them as big as she could she ended up getting the award for the biggest Tom at the sale, she received a plaque and her turkeys sold for a darn good price 105.00 and 100.00 per bird and then grandpa gave her a boost wich was nice of him anyway the tom that she got the plaque for was 35lbs and then she also sold her 33lb one too and the buyer gave it back to her so looks like i am gonna have to cook a bird eventually.

Ok i know i haven't posted in a while and this isn't a good reason to post but i wanted to show you what happens when a BYU fan isnt payin attention and plows into the back of your car as you can see by looking at mine it pretty much totals the car, however we did come out with only some whiplash and bruises so we are very lucky now we just need to get a new car to replace it...

I wanted to update you all on the turkeys since i havent in a while
we have 4 weeks left till processing (ewww) and as you can see they have come a long way from the little bitty things we started with in the earlier posts, i wanted to get pics of the toms when they werent all defensive but everytime i open the door to get pics they puff up to protect the hens so i guess you really cant tell how big they are by the pics but trust me they're HUGE and very majestic too if i do say so myself, they are ready to eat right now but we have to wait till the FFA turkey auction wich is on the 25th of november so we send em to processing on the 20th. I hope Ashley does as good this yr at the sale as she usually does but we'll see, we have to get alot of people there first.

Wahoooo finally we are as close to
finished as we can be andcan get back to sleepin in our room, we still need to stain the closet doors and put some finishing touches on like we are still gonna trim the ceiling and i have bought a new desk for in there
too but cant get it for a ffew days, I
dont know if you can see the color too well but its apricot with the oak trim my bed looks great in there as you can see and the new desk looks just like the bed. Doug taught himself how to lay the flooring and it looks great it has kind of a knotty pine look, anywhoooo everything looks great except the closet door but we'll even have them done in a few days. i'm soo excited i'm gonna get to sleep in my bed again after sleepin in the trailer for a month(and last night was colddddddddd). tell me what you think of
my color choice most people thought i was nuts when they first saw the paint on the walls but look at it now with the trim. picture me jumpin on the bed tooo wooohooo...

Ashleys Surgery

Well Ashley had surgery on both knees on the
23rd this is a pic of her 2 days later, she is still
in pain and probably will be for a few weeks but she
is able to walk around and get herself to the potty
(i was afraid we would have to carry her there)as you
can see she looks like a mummy from her thighs down lol
she will take them bandages off on friday the 26th. she
got spoiled rotten by her friends and the neighbor girl
she must have gotten 50.00 to 100.00 worth of goodies, from cookie dough to flowers to coloring books to magazines ohh and esther keeps buying her lunch and dinner. i would say shes been spoiled. she says shes bored to death so hopefully the doc will let her go back to school after her doctors visit monday.

OOPS HE DID IT AGAIN!

Well He did it again, Justin said he was all done with derbys but he got a good deal on this

car so he decided to take it to the derby in Riverton Ut. He spent about 30 hours getting it ready for the derby, he went into his heat and lost but he let a friend of his drive it in the WIPE OUT heat wich is where the cars go till the last one is running and the friend actually won, WOOOHOOO he won 300.00 and since it was Justins car and justin had put all the money into getting it ready and getting it to the derby he split the money with Justin wich is a pretty fair deal i would say its nice to actually see him come out with a little bit of money and i think he comes out a head on the deal. lets just hope he's done with derbys now but i dont think so.

Soldier Hollow Sheepdog trials

Well today Doug and I decided to ride over to midway and watch the Soldier Hollow Sheepdog trials as you can see by the pics it was very interesting, my favorite part was the splash dogs jumping into the water. but there were also duck herding dogs too and sheep herding dogs the dogs had to herd the duck or sheep wichever they herded in to little pen but before taking them into the pen they had to run them through three sets of gates. the splash dogs just had to see how far they could jump into the pool, one of the dogs we watched went 25ft 7 inches WOW. it was a SPLASH!!!

Ashley's 4H project

WOW! Amazing huh? these turkeys are getting bigger every-
day, the first pic is when they were a week old and the last few
pics are of them just today at almost 7 weeks old i'm guessing
they are about 5 or 6 pounds right now. this is probably the
easiest 4H project Ashley has ever done all we do is keep water
and food in front of them all the time and they do the rest. We
do have a few secrets too but if i tell ya i'll have to kill ya lol.

LOOK EVERYONE I ADDED A TICKER FOR AMBER ALERTS PLEASE READ THEM AND KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR THOSE MISSING I THINK THIS IS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE ADDED TO MY BLOG.

School started today, i'm really excited for Ashley to be in 9th grade it should be a real fun yr for her seeins how she had to apply to be in both biology and yr book and made it into both. i think she is more excited for yr book than biology but i know she do great in both because shes the most perfect daughter i could have ever asked for, always gets good grades and never gets into trouble except with me and her dad about cleaning her room hahaha i think all teens do that. She also has the best friends i could ever ask for they aren't trouble makers and love to just hang out and chill here at the house wich is where i would much rather have them than running around town, ohh and did i mention everyone of the girls she hangs out with are either the youngest in the family or the only girl go figure that one out, how did she ever get with a bunch of girls with the same kinda of family situation i'll never know but it works out great they all get along great. I love all them girls a ton and have loved watching them grow up since the 4th and 5th grade wich is how long ashley has been friends with them.

All is well that ends well so they say. Fair days in Wasatch County is now over for another yr we all had a blast this yr of course me and doug worked and the kids went on about what they wanted to do, Kevin and Ivy went to the Nascar races in Tooele and took some pics for me to add here i worked concessions and Ashley danced in the parade wich i missed,Justin did derby car stuff and hung out with friends as per the usual, but they all went to the rodeo and loved it, the One Armed badit's daughter was there they say she did a great job of whatever she did, i didnt see it because i was serving burgers all week, i'll bet we served about a million and one of them things i just loved working with them people even though we were all tired we still made it fun. Brandon of course abandoned us till saturday night (he's one of our cooks) but when he returned we made it worth his while we put him stocking ice and condiments lol thats what he gets for leaving us(just kiddin brandon). ohh and i just wanted to say great job Jordyn and Hunter at teh livestock show and sale sorry i missed it good juob Hunter on your trophy Doug has one of them too only for sheep.

Well today starts fairdays as usual i will be having a blast as will my family, doug of course has to work an i have to work in concessions well i want to work there i love the people i work in there with (Jerry,Dianne, Brandon, to name a few) i dont know all of their names but jerrys girls are terrific to work with also and they know who they are. we work really hard but have a blast doing it. Ashley will be in the parade again dancing she loves to dance and will do it wherever she is asked to do it. so i am gonna close with what we say in concessions "lets get cookin, and stay in your assigned area" wooohoooooooo

Well today is our anneversary i cant beleive another yr has gone by. 21 yrs seems like a long time but it isnt if you look at the whole scheme of things, i'm so glad that i am married to him for eternity, really there isnt any other way to do it, we are so happy together.

Well i just wanted to write and say how proud i am of my daughter she was able to go do the relay for life again this yr, it was this past weekend she stayed over night with some friends, she finally came home at about noon or so on saturday, she does this walk as often as she can for my sister cindy who has fought and beat breast cancer.
